Knit Patterns & Handwoven Textiles

Pattern Anniversary

This time last year I released my first knit pattern. Writing a pattern for others to follow and be able to understand your direction was not something that I really thought about until I was actually doing it. But I got through it thanks to an awesome tech editor and test knitters!

In the summer my family and I like to go around to all our berry bushes harvesting tasty blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. This shawl is inspired by all the wonderful harvesting and the family memories we make on our homestead!

The Homestead Harvest Shawl is a fun and engaging knit with bobbles, garter, eyelets, and a lace section ending! It’s a lightweight shawl that I feel is perfect for all year. I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal, so throwing this on just makes my outfit more fun and I feel a little more dressed up.

I love how in this photo my 5 month baby bump is poking through. Hard to believe that little baby is almost crawling now!

Releasing a pattern out into the world is a little nerve wracking because it is something you work so hard on to create and you don’t know how people will perceive it, but it is so worth it. I have gotten wonderful feedback and although I have had lots of other pattern ideas circling in my mind since then to knit and write up, I just have had a hard time finding the time. Taking care of four kids may have something to do with it. 🤣.

Recently though I have been fitting in knitting sessions during the baby’s nap time and some late nights…..so a new knit pattern might just be up on the horizon! If you follow me over on Instagram or Facebook you may just see a call for test knitters soon! 😉

If you are interested in the “Homestead Harvest Shawl” it is available on Raverly and Etsy. If you decide to knit it make sure to tag me in it on Instagram and use the #homesteadharvestshawl so I can see it!
